‘The Statue’ competing at Route 66 fest

Acclaimed Iranian animated movie ‘The Statue’ has been competing at the 2022 Route 66 Film Festival, currently underway in the US.

Mohsen Salehifard’s ‘The Statue’ is about a sculptor who has difficulty in making his statues.

The winner of the critics’ award at the 2022 Khamrubu International Short Film Festival in India has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Corti a Ponte Film Festival in Italy, the Khamrubu International Film Festival in India, the 34th Girona Film Festival in Spain and the Gbeck Future Film Festival in Canada.

It has also succeeded to take home some awards, such as the Best Animated Short at the Snowtown Film Festival in the US and the grand prix at the International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival in Croatia.

Iranian film ‘Do not Breathe’ is also among the Iranian representatives at the event.

Began in November 2002, the Route 66 Film Festival is an annual film festival located in Springfield, the capital city of Illinois.

The festival kicked off on November 04 and will be running until November 14 entirely online. An in-person screening of award-winning films will be held on November 12, 2022.
