Italian Director Hails Iranian Culture

Italian Director giovanni pompili hails the Iranian cultural wave that has entered the international film industry, via the nation’s cinema.

Pompili referred to the cultural wave as not transient, but rather a process that is continuously ongoing.

The director, who has participated in Iran’s international Kids Filmfest with the movie “Silence”, described the Iranian festival as prominent.

Referring to the cultural current that Iran has been spreading worldwide, he noted Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar winner “The Seller”, and said the trend has started and is flourishing, which has influenced world cinema.

Pompili further said that commercial cinema is found all over the world, but there are movies that are screen- played in each country, never exiting its borders. In contrast, he continued, Iranian cinematic structure has pooled commercial and cultural cinema in one framework.

He described such a combo system as very healthy, so that other nations across the world can easily identify with the Iranian cultural movies.
