Iranian ‘Tablet’ to vie at Mesa filmfest

Iranian short flick ‘Tablet’ has been set to take part in the Mesa International Film Festival (MIFF) in the US.

Directed by Maliheh Dehqani, the 15-minute film will go on screen at the main competition program of the 3rd edition of the US event.

‘Tablet’ tells the story of Farid, a teenage boy who loses his father when Covid starts and his mother has heart condition.

Now that schools are closed due to quarantine and teaching is done virtually, he cannot afford to buy a tablet and tries to turn his life around and continue his education, which is fruitless, which makes him depressed and helpless, and in the end he makes a difficult decision.

Mohammad-Hossein Heidari, Mahtab Shokrian, Asra Hosseini, Shaqayeq Feizi, Hasti Shali, Hamid-Reza Dashti, Mohsen Mohammadi, Sanaz Saberinia, and Bijan Feizi are among the cast members of the flick.

The MIFF aims to create a one-of-a-kind experience for filmmakers by giving them a platform to learn about the industry, watch great independent films, network and make lifelong memories and friends.

The 2022 edition of the MIFF is slated for December 1-4.
