Narges Abyar serving on jury at IMUFF

Iran’s prominent female director Narges Abyar has been serving as a juror at the 8th Mercy to the Universe International Short Film Festival (IMUFF) in Turkey.

Narges Abyar is serving as a member of the international jury of the IMUFF.

Abyar is well known for several movies, including ‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’, which Iran selected as its submission for the best international feature film category at the 2018 Oscar.

She has won awards at many film festivals in Iran and across the world, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

This year’s edition of the IMUFF also sees two Iranian films among nominations.

Iranian short film ‘Graveyard’ was named as one of International Fiction Finalists in the Turkish event, while ‘The Sprayer’ was named an International Animation Finalist.

The Mercy to Universe International Short Film Festival is “the first short film competition in Turkey and in the world, dedicated to our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was sent as a Mercy to the Universe”.

The 8th edition of the festival opened on November 24 and will run until Wednesday.
