Razavi Khorasan, top medicinal mushroom producer

Razavi Khorasan ranks first in the production of edible-medicinal mushrooms in the country.

Director of Horticulture department at Razavi Khorasan Agriculture-Jihad Organization said, "This province ranks first among other provinces in the country in terms of production of edible and medicinal mushrooms with 12 production units in the province."

In an interview on Friday, Ali Jafari added, "The farming of edible/medicinal mushrooms ... in Razavi Khorasan produces an annual crop amounting to 21 tonnes."

He also noted,  "In these farms, all kinds of special edible mushrooms that have medicinal ... aspects are produced."

Medicinal mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for centuries, and have a wide range of health benefits. They are known to boost the immune system, fight cancer, improve heart health, and more.

The province of Razavi Khorasan is home to a variety of mushroom farms, which produce edible-medicinal mushrooms for both the local and national markets. The province's ideal climate and soil make it the perfect place for growing mushrooms.
