The festival announced that 578 films from 72 countries have registered for the international section by the beginning of this month.
The works include films from Iran, and Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, China, Argentina, India, The Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Canada, the UK, Turkey, France, Indonesia, Ukraine, Iraq, Japan, Tunisia, and Egypt.
Earlier reports said the producers of 75 Iranian films filled out the online entry form in order to take part in the Iranian Cinema Competition of the 41st edition of Fajr by the registration deadline of November 21.
The Fajr Film Festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
The 41st edition of the festival, headed by Mojtaba Amini, will take place on February 1-10.
