Bisotun site, a symbol of history and culture

Bisotun Cultural Historical area, having been registered on Iran’s National Heritage list as Bisotun Area is located in Kermanshah Province.

The site dates back to prehistoric era which is located among the mountain of the same name.

The Statue of Hercules, Bisotun Bridge and Shah Abbasi Caravanserai are just a few examples of the historical items of the region.

Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the main attraction of the site is undoubtedly the bas-relief and cuneiform inscription ordered by Darius the Great, when he rose to the throne of the Persian Empire in 521 BC.
