Iran stage and screen actor Ashkan Khatibi has been chosen to host closing of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY) in Iran.
A press release on the festival's website published Thursday read, “According to the media committee of the 2017 the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in the historic city of Isfahan, the closing ceremony hosted by … Shakan Khatibi will be held Thursday at 18 pm (local time).”
This marks the second appearance of Khatibi as a host to an Iranian fest’s closing ceremony. He has already hosted the closing for 35th Fajr International Filmfest in Iran.
The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.
The event celebrates films made for children and youth. It also supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas.
The 30th edition of IFFCY has been slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
