Bulgaria to host Iran film

Iranian film ‘Nargesi’, is scheduled to vie at the Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria.

Directed by by Payam Eskandari, the film will represent Iran at the 2023 edition of the event.

Produced by Shahab Hosseini, the film follows Hossein, who has Down’s syndrome. His greatest wish is to find love and get married and for this, he is ready at doing anything. It seems, however, that there is no place for him and his love in this world until a gift completely turns his life around…

Shahab Hosseini, Behnaz Jafari, Ghazaleh Nazar, Mahsa Maleki and Hossein Eskandari star in the film.

Sofia MENAR Film Festival “makes Bulgarian audience familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world”, an online submission platform reads.

“The program of Sofia MENAR Film Festival presents the best of the Middle East and North Africa cinema productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects.”

The 15th edition of the event will launch on January 16-29, 2023.
