‘Bednaya Liza’ (Poor Liza) was performed on the 10th and last day of the 41st edition of the festival on Monday.
It was the highest-grossing play of the festival. In reaction, the Russian troupe took to social media to appreciate that, saying “Thank you for the warm welcome, cheers and audience shouts.”
The annual Fadjr International Theater Festival was established in the early 1980s.
It features local and international theatrical works and performances.
The Fajr festivals, that also include visual arts, film, and music events, coincide with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran that mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
