First image for Fajr contender ‘Captain’ unveiled

The first image for Iranian feature ‘Captain’, which is named an official selection for Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran, has been unveiled.

The first photo of ‘Captain’, directed by Mohammad Hamzehi, shows the Iranian actress Paneteh Panahi.

“They call me Issa, I do whatever I want,” a synopsis for the film, written by Amir Mohammad Abdi, reads.

The film is also starring Pejman Bazeghi and Amir Hossein Bayat.

This year, the domestic and international versions of Fajr film festival will be once again held as part of one event titled “Fajr International Film Festival” after five editions of separate versions.

The Fajr festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 41st edition of Fajr International Film Festival, headed by Mojtaba Amini, will take place on February 1-10.
