Iranian ‘Graveyard’ to vie in Lebanon

Iranian short flick ‘Graveyard’ has been scheduled to vie at the Beirut International Women’s Film Festival (BWFF) in Lebanon.

The film will be screened at the main competition section of the seventh edition of the event.

“Reyhaneh was the reason for her baby’s death. Now, in the absence of his runaway husband, she is looking for a way to bury the baby. She deals with different hardships but eventually finds a way to get what she wants,” a synopsis of the film reads.

‘Graveyard’ has so far won many awards and nominations at various international film festivals.

Fatemeh Sefatzadeh, Bahador Mohammadnejad, Ahmad Sharifi, Ali Yazdian, Saba Azizpour and Golnaz Zojaji star in the film.

Founded in 2017, the BWFF focuses on the theme of “Women for Leadership”. The festival highlights the role of women as leader in their societies.

This year’s edition of the festival is scheduled for March 5-10.
