Zanjan Archeology Museum in Iran houses salt mummies dating back over 2000 years.
The museum keeps one of the most famous collections of mummies in the world, known as “Salt Men.”
The mummies were discovered in salt mines during excavations in Zanjan Province.
The first discovered mummy was a bearded man with half a body, long hair and gold earrings. Zanjan’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department later purified, cleansed, and restored the salt men and their discovered belongings during a joint project.
Watch the video to see for yourself how these mummies look. You will be able to see just how well-preserved they are, despite their age and the conditions they faced.
