Reshteh khoshkar, popular dessert in Ramadan

Reshteh khoshkar is one of the most popular traditional desserts served during the fasting month of Ramadan in Iran’s northern province of Gilan.

The holy month of Ramadan is when Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset. During the fasting month, people love to eat sweets, and Reshteh khoshkar is one of their options in Iran.

The dessert is simple, but delicious. Reshteh khoshkar’s dough is made of water and rice flour.

Before frying the dessert, it is stuffed with walnuts, sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon.

Here are some photos showing how this delicious dessert is made.
