Iran artist merges art with religion

In the world of modern Islamic art, Iranian artists such as Hassan Rouhol-Amin stand out.

This painter uses ritual and religious occasions to create his creative works of art, which are deeply in tune with his belief in Islam and Shia Imams.

To commemorate the somber anniversary of the night when Imam Ali (AS) was struck with a poison-coated sword, Rouhol-Amin has revealed his latest masterpiece, "The Candle of the Treasury House".

This poignant painting was inspired by the story of Imam Ali (AS) and his brother who had requested additional funds from the public treasury. Imam Ali (AS) warned his brother of hellfire, which would be more destructive than the light of a candle.
