People across world mark Quds Day

Millions of people in Iran and other countries across the world mark the International Quds Day to show their support for the Palestinians and their struggle to liberate their Israeli-occupied territories.

The Quds Day is marked annually with rallies while protesters voicing their solidarity with the Palestinians and decrying the crimes committed against them by the apartheid regime of Israel.

The International Quds Day is observed every year on the last Friday of the Islam’s holy fasting month of Ramadan.

This year, the event falls on April 14.

The International Quds Day was designated by Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This year, the event is observed amid heightened tensions in the occupied territories following violent Israeli attacks on worshippers in al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds.
