Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan is a rising agricultural powerhouse generating over Four million tons of produce.
Sistan and Baluchestan is one of the largest and the most sparsely populated provinces of Iran and has made remarkable progress in the field of agriculture.
The province has witnessed an upswing in the production of food crops, fruits, and vegetables, which has contributed significantly to the development of Iran's economy.
According to the provincial department of the Agriculture Jihad Ministry in Sistan and Baluchestan produced more than four million tons of agricultural products in the previous Iranian calendar year that ended in late March 2023.
While Sistan and Baluchestan is known for its desert conditions with scorching temperatures, mountains and forests can be seen in this province.
َAgricultural activities in the province have increased exponentially in recent years thanks to efficient management and the establishment of quite a number of greenhouses.
The government has implemented several measures to support the growth of the agriculture sector in Iran, such as investing in irrigation systems, introducing modern farming techniques and technology, and adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
