Iran rugs decorate houses in 82 countries

Iranian handmade carpets and floor coverings have experienced a huge demand as they were sold to eighty-two countries all over the world.

According to a media report, the valuable Iranian rugs and floor coverings were sold last year to customers from Austria, Ethiopia, Jordan, Armenia, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Spain, Australia, Estonia, Slovenia, South Africa, Afghanistan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and England.

Among other customers include Ukraine, New Zealand, the Netherlands, India, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Greece which purchased carpets and floor coverings made in Iran.

Iran produces some of the world’s most beautiful, exquisite, and valuable handmade carpets, and the local handicraft industry accounts for a significant part of the country’s economy.

Many people in Iran weave carpets as their primary means of livelihood, and the demand for their products worldwide is a huge source of income for them.

The diversity of countries that purchased Iranian handmade carpets last year highlights the universal appeal of this traditional art form and showcases Iran's position as a leading producer of handcrafted carpets globally.
