Last railway station in north of Iran

Visit the last railway station named Tirtash in Iranian province of Mazandaran.

Located in Mazandaran Province, Tirtash railway station was built about a century ago. One of the main reasons for the construction of this station was the Tirtash Tobacco Company.

The railway station was used to load fuel and transport tobacco to Tehran. However, the station became abandoned with the change of rail transport to road in the late 1980s.

Due to its proximity to the villages of Lemarsk and Tirtash, the station is still considered the stopping place of local trains on the route of Pol Sefid to Bandar Turkmen.

This historical monument was registered in the list of national landmarks of the country in 2005.
