Animations running for Iran fest out

Latest edition of International Urban Film Festival in Iran announces the lineup for animation section.

The festival’s PR office said in a media release that 39 films were selected by the jury panel for the animated section with Dariush Alvand, Nasser Golmohammadi and Ali Derakhshi serving as jurors.

The fest unveiled a rich mix of titles spanning many genres. The standouts include ‘Junk Girl’ by Mohammad Zare and Shalaleh Kheiri, Amir-Houshang Moin’s ‘Orange Tree’ and ‘The Servant’ by Farnoush Abedi.

Organized by the Art and Culture Organization of Tehran Municipality, the festival’s film categories include Iranian Cinema (competition), International Cinema (competition) and Neighborhood section.

The International Urban Film Festival’s main focus is on the significance of city and urbanism in human life. The event also seeks to promote empathy and moral values in cinematic works and offers a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences among the cities of the world.
