Damask rose harvested in Cholicheh

Catch a photo report of harvesting damask rose in flower gardens of Cholicheh in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.

Damask rose is cultivated in many regions of the world due to its wonderful scent and variety of cultivars. Iranians are among the first nations that realized the edible and therapeutic properties of the rose.

Beautiful pink flowers with 32 identical pink petals begin to appear in the early morning from early May to early July, and in each region, the time for the flowers to open takes 20 to 30 days.

At present, about 600 hectares of fields in Cholicheh are cultivated with damask rose, which is of high value in terms of the climatic conditions of the province. Besides, the crop requires little water and grows on sloping lands.
