Burnt City unveils ancient objects

Zahedan has unveiled three ancient objects on the ninth anniversary of the world registration of the Burnt City.

On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the world registration of the Burnt City in UNESCO, three historical monuments of the five thousand years old civilization of eastern Iran were exhibited.

The bronze figure of the Lady of the Burned City, the accounting tablet and the Moarraq comb were unveiled on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the global registration of the Burnt City at the Regional Museum of Southeast Iran in the city of Zahedan.

The "Accounting Tablet", which was found in the winter of 2022 after 50 years of exploration in the burnt city, is considered a unique written document from the urbanization period of eastern Iran, which is estimated to be around 4900 years old.

The Burnt city was one of the most important urban areas of the Iranian plateau about five thousand years ago which hosts tens of ancient objects and monuments.
