Armenia to host ‘Endless Borders’

Iranian, German-Czech movie ‘Endless Borders’ is scheduled to vie at the Yerevan Golden Apricot International Film Festival (GAIFF) in Armenia.

Directed by Abbas Amini, the film will represent Iran at the main competition section of the 20th edition of the event.

‘Endless Borders’ tells the story of Ahmad, a teacher in exile. He lives in a small Baluch village along the Iranian-Afghan border. The man meets a family of illegal Hazara refugees who are fleeing the immediate danger of the Taliban coming to power.

A little later, Ahmad realizes that prejudices are dictating all of their lives, and his views on right and wrong change drastically.

The Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival aims to “to build bridges and foster dialogue between different cultures”, website of the event reads.

The GAIFF “welcomes films representing diverse ethnic groups, religions, and nations that depict the human experience”.

The 20th edition of the event will be held on July 9-16, 2023.
