Written and directed by Ahmad Heidarian, the animated peace is representing Iran at this year’s edition of the event.
tThe six-minute film has anti-Zionist messages, aiming to bring the voice of Palestine to the world.
The animated piece has previously won the best animation award at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
A production of Sooreh Film Club, the animated piece is about the 1948 creation of Israel and the eviction of Palestinians from their homeland.
The flick, which features no dialogue, is produced by Mohaddeseh Pirhadi.
“In 1948, many Palestinians were forced to leave their homes. Each abandoned house was taken by a Zionist family and that’s how Palestine was occupied,” comes as a conclusion to the film.
The International Cartoon Club Festival is one of the best-known festivals in the Italian scene.
It is a remarkable window for animation works, short films in particular – fiction, educational, experimental, computer graphic – and with a whole section solely dedicated to comics and games.
The 39th edition of the festival is currently underway from July 10 – 16, 2023.
