Led by Mr. Arep Kulal, the CEO of Global Bike Explorer Sdn Bhd, the journey, officially titled ‘The Expedition of Unity of the 66th Independence Proclamation’, commenced on June 20 from London.
Covering a remarkable distance of approximately 22,000 kilometers, the route traverses 66 cities across 16 countries.
Organizers have emphasized that the expedition holds symbolic significance, allowing participants to reflect on the remarkable endeavors of HRH Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, the Father of Independence, who traveled to London in 1957 to conduct constitutional negotiations and brought back the Malaysian Declaration of Independence.
On July 16, the team was warmly welcomed at the ambassador's residence, where they enjoyed the comforts of Malaysia's traditional cuisine. H.E. Khairi bin Omar, the Ambassador of Malaysia, expressed gratitude to the riders for choosing Iran as one of their destinations.
He expressed hope that their experiences would contribute to promoting the beauty of Iran, both among Malaysians and people from various nations.
Ambassador Omar noted, "By this symbolic act, we can reminisce about the efforts of the Father of Independence, HRH Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, who flew to London in 1957 to hold constitutional talks and brought home the Malaysian Declaration of Independence. Iran is the 12th country on your travel plan, and I'm grateful that you have chosen Iran as one of your destinations. The expedition members' experiences in Iran will undoubtedly shed light on the positive encounters they have had here and will significantly contribute to showcasing the beauty of Iran, especially among Malaysians and people from around the world."
Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, Ambassador Omar thanked the riders for their dedication and blessed them on their ongoing journey. Mr. Arep Kulal, the expedition's leader, expressed his gratitude to the embassy for their hospitality, assuring them that he would share the true essence of Iran and its captivating allure.
With a heartfelt farewell from the ambassador, the riders were enthusiastically sent off by embassy officials and staff at 10:00 on Monday. Tabriz, Tehran, Gorgan, and Quchan were among the Iranian cities they explored before continuing their expedition into Turkmenistan.
The riders are expected to reach Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia's National Day, August 31, marking the culmination of their remarkable journey.
