Japan to host Iranian Film Week

The Iranian Film Week is scheduled to be held in Japan.

The 6th edition of Iranian Film Week will be launched on August 10-14, 2023, screening eight Iranian movies.

‘The Warden’, ‘Leaf of Life’, ‘Gholamreza Takhti’ and ‘The Situation of Mehdi’ are among the screening films.

Ali Saadat-Azar, Iran's cultural consultant in Japan told the media that Considering the common cultural commonalities and the existence of similar historical and bio-social cultural experiences between the two nations, we hope that the field of cinema and film will be useful as an effective tool in the development of cultural diplomacy of the two countries.

The event is organized by the cultural office at Iran’s embassy in Japan, and other parties, including the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization, and Farabi Cinema Foundation.

Since 2018, the cultural office at Iran’s embassy in Japan has translated and subtitled 12 Iranian films, including ‘Bodyguard’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia, ‘Sweet Taste of Imagination' by Kamal Tabrizi  and ‘So Close, So Far’  by Reza Mirkarimi.
