Hafez Awards announces winners

Iran’s Hafez Awards has announced winners.

The closing ceremony of the television cinema event "World of Image" was held on Saturday in Tehran.

In this edition, the movies that were released from December 2021 to the beginning of August 2023 were judged.

All of the announced nominees were selected from the VOD platforms.

Veteran Iranian actor Behzad Farahani received the lifetime artistic activity award, special Hafez statue of Ali Moallem.

The Best Documentary award were sent to Siavash Saffarian for his latest work ‘My Captain’.

Best Comedy actor: Mehran Qafourian (Blue Nissan)

Best Drama Actress: Hoda Zeinolabedin (Set Me Free)

Best Drama Actor: Alireza Kamali (The Lion Skin)

Best Series Script: Jamshid Mahmoudi, Reza Baharvand (The Lion Skin)

Best Series Directing Award: Nima Javidi (Set Me Free), Jamshid Mahmoudi (The Lion Skin)

Best Score Music: Alireza Qorbani (Innocent), Mohsen Chavoshi (Set Me Free)

Kiarostami Award: Ali Behrad (Imagine)

The best technical and artistic achievement: ‘Without Everything’

Best Editing: Emad Khodabakhsh (Without Everything)

Best Cinematography: Vahid Ebrahimi (The Situation of Mehdi)

Best Film Score: Hossein Alizadeh (Atabai)

Special Individual Achievement Award: Hadi Hejazifar

Best Film Script: Imid Shams, Bahman Ark, Ali Sarahang (Conjugal Visit)

Special Jury Award: Arsalan Amiri (Zalava)

Best Actress: Elnaz Shakerdoust (Ti Ti), Sadaf Espahbodi (Grassland)

Best Actor: Pejman Jamshidi (Grassland), Bahram Afshari (Fossile)

Best Directing: Ida Panahandeh (Ti Ti)

Best Film: ‘Conjugal Visit’ (Producer: Amir Banan)

Launched in 1997, the Hafez Awards is an annual awarding ceremony which is held to honor cinematic achievements in Iranian cinema.

The celebration is organized every year by the Persian cinematic monthly Donya-ye Tasvir (World of Image), which was held under the title of Donya-ye Tasvir Cinematic and TV Films Celebration for several years.

The 22nd edition of the event was held in late September.
