Prominent Iran actor dies at 66

 Veteran Iranian actor Atila Pesyani passes away at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer.

In a statement, Iran's House of Cinema confirmed the passing of the well-known actor who had been battling cancer for the past few years.

The actor had been undergoing treatment in France and unfortunately passed away on Friday due to the illness.

Born in 1957, Pesyani had a decades-long shining record in theater and television. The son of the late Iranian actress, Jamileh Sheikhi, started acting at an early age.

He appeared in many Iranian movies and series such as 'Goodbye Child', 'The Children Are Watching' and 'Two Films with One Ticket'
