'Nowruz' seeks festive premiere

New Iranian movie ‘Nowruz,’ starring veteran actor Ali Nasiriyan, is vying for a spot in Nowruz screenings.

The movie recently premiered at the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

Saeed Khani, the distribution manager at Khaneye Film, said to the media that the request for a Nowruz premiere is due to the film’s Persian New Year theme.

Directed by Soheil Movaffaq and produced by Mohammad Reza Naderi, ‘Nowruz’ is a fantasy drama suitable for audiences of all ages.

The story revolves around Uncle Nowruz played by Nasirian.

Uncle Nowruz and a character named Haji Firouz, portrayed by Mehdi Hashemi, long for the arrival of spring.

The film features a melodic revival of traditional Nowruz songs, performed by the talented duo.

In 2002, Nasiriyan was honored as an 'Iranian National Treasure' in Theater and Film.

Meanwhile, Turkish actor Ali Burak Ceylan, renowned for his roles in Turkish series, made a notable appearance in the film.

Celebrated usually around March 20 or 21, Nowruz marks the beginning of the spring equinox.

The Persian New Year is a time of celebration and renewal when families and friends come together to share joy and happiness.
