TIBF to host 60 foreign publishers

Sixty foreign publishers are to participate in the 35th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), scheduled to take place at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on May 8-18.

According to the director of the fair Yasser Ahmadvand, the publishers will collectively present some 50,000 titles, marking an increase from last year's number of 45,000 titles.

Ahmadvand also announced a special program titled ‘Iran’s Publication in the Foreign Sector’, scheduled for May 13-15, aimed at introducing Iranian publications to foreign publishers.

About 20 publishers and literary agents will participate in the event, which includes visits to printing centers and bookstores, with the aim of fostering greater understanding of Iran's publishing industry.

Other cultural programs planned for the fair include initiatives focused on the people of Gaza and the empowerment of women and girls.

Under the slogan "Let's Read and Create", the 35th edition of the TIBF will also feature a virtual component on ketab.ir.

As announced by the public relations center of the fair, Yemen has been designated as the special guest for this edition.

As Iran's premier book trade fair, the TIBF has gained prominence as a significant cultural event in West Asia, attracting millions of visitors annually, including scholars, university students, and families.

With an average participation of 2,500 domestic publishers, the fair offers a wide range of materials, primarily in English or Arabic, but also in French, German, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese languages.
