Teheran to host ethnic film festival

Tehran is set to host the 2024 National Iranian Ethnic Film Festival.

The event will be held on May 15-19 at the Tehran Book Garden Cineplex, with the support of the Tehran Municipality and Tasvir-Shahr Institute.

The festival, themed "Ethnicities, the Roots of Iran," showcases films in six competitive categories. They include feature films, short narrative films, animations, documentaries, music videos, and screenplays based on the festival's theme. 

The running films explore Iranian ethnic groups' cultural and religious practices, lifestyles, customs, history, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and tourism potential.

The Tehran Book Garden is a large complex dedicated to books, science and entertainment. The visitors can watch movies at the complex's cinema halls.

The festival is expected to attract many filmmakers and film enthusiasts. It is a valuable opportunity to celebrate Iran's rich cultural diversity and promote understanding and appreciation of its ethnic groups.
