Turkey to screen 'Intoxicated by Love'

The Iranian-Turkish film 'Intoxicated by Love' will soon be released in cinemas in Turkey.

The CEO of Filmiran, the distributor of the flick, told the media that "negotiations are underway to start screening the film in Turkey, and we expect to be able to announce the release news soon."

Meysam Nourani added that the Azari dubbing of the flick, directed by Hassan Fathi, is ready, and the dubbed version will be screened in Azari-speaking provinces of Iran by the end of the week.

"The film is approaching the 1000 billion rial mark at the Iranian box office," he noted, referring to the wide appeal of the flick to the audience.

In addition, Nourani said that efforts are underway to invite the Turkish actors in the film—Hande Erçel, İbrahim Çelikkol, Selma Ergeç, Bensu Soral, Burak Tozkoparan, Halit Ergenç, and Boran Kuzum—to Iran for a special screening before the film's public release in Turkey.

The film portrays the story of the Iranian poet Rumi, his bond with his mentor Shams Tabrizi, and his profound influence on Rumi's life and his love for God.

Acclaimed Iranian actors Parsa Pirouzfar and Shahab Hosseini star as Rumi and Shams, respectively.
