Iraq theaters to host Iranian film

The Iranian movie 'Imam Reza's (AS) Sister', directed by Seyyed Mojtaba Tabatabaei, is set to be screened at theaters in Iraq.

The film follows the journey of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (SA), the sister of the eighth Shia Imam, from Medina to Qom city in Iran.

It also depicts historical events and the plots against her by al-Mamun, the Abbasid caliph.

The first screening will start on the eve of the blessed Eid al-Adha, and the film will be on the silver screen for 20 days starting on June 16.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a major holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It marks the culmination of the annual Hajj rituals in Saudi Arabia.

Moviegoers in Baghdad can watch the film at al-Masrah al-Watani and al-Rashid cinemas.

The film has already been screened internationally in Lebanon, Pakistan, and Australia.

The Sooreh Cinema International handles the international distribution of the film.
