Portrait of Iranian actor Mehdi Soltani

The artistic life of Mehdi began when he moved to Tehran to pursue his studies at the University of Tehran. That was the time when he took his first role as a stage actor in a play titled ‘How the Shepherd Found way to the Well’.

Mehdi was offered his debut role in a cinematic flick a year later. The movie, titled ‘The Detective’, marks his very first professional experience as a cinema actor.

The then rising star owes a great deal of his success to the role he played in a TV series titled ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’. However, the flick that turned him into a national sensation among Iranian households was another series titled ‘The Wall’, where he played the role of a man named Jamil.

Since then, no matter what role he has played, it has just added to his never-ceasing fame and reputation. The roles he played in ‘A Mother’s Sacrifices’, ‘Like a Mother’ and ‘Kimia’ are among the most memorable works by Mehdi.

His good fame extended beyond the national TV when he appeared in the popular series ‘Shahrzad’, made for an Iranian VOD platform. No one may forget his mesmerizing portrayal of a father, who cares so much about the well-being of his family that is willing to do any sacrifice, even if it is killing someone.

He once again revived the magic of fatherhood in his defining role in ‘Father’ that soon found a huge base among the iFilm viewers.

Besides the mentioned series, Soltani-Sarvestani has appeared in several TV and cinema works, including ‘The Trial’, ‘The Final Decision’, ‘Madineh’, ‘Seven Stones’, ‘The Queen’ and ‘Che’, all of which have been aired by iFilm English TV.

Acting before the camera is not Mehdi's sole specialty as he has tried his hand in the realm of stage acting. He has created some unforgettable moments on stage in various roles and plays. 

Mehdi Soltani-Sarvestani’s personal life:

He was born in 1971 in the amazing city of Shiraz to a father, who was an esteemed teacher and a housewife mother. The following photos show his childhood and teenagerhood.

Upon acquiring his BA degree in acting at the University of Tehran, he moved to France for a master’s degree and a PhD in theater at the Avignon University.

Thanks to his rich academic background and unique acting talent, he is currently a university professor and an actor.

Mehdi tied the knot at the age of 29. He is the father a girl named Roja.
