Tehran hosts “The Dear Guest of Iran”

Iranian artists and thinkers attend an event marking the martyrdom of  Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas resistance group.

"The Dear Guest of Iran” event took place on Thursday at Soureh Hall in Tehran's Art Bureau.

Haniyeh was assassinated, along with his bodyguard, in an Israeli attack on his residence in northern Tehran on Wednesday.

Notable figures attended the gathering, including Hamidreza Jafarian, director of the Soureh Cinema Organization, and Mohammad Vahidzadeh, a famous researcher on Palestinian art and history.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses, followed by the Iranian national anthem and a video presentation featuring the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, alongside Haniyeh.

Following the host's opening remarks, Iranian vocalist Hesam Arian performed a live version of the musical piece “Mask.”

The event continued with a performance by the ‘Ehsan’ young adult choir, which captivated the audience.

During the final part of the event, Iranian poet Alireza Ghazveh recited a poem he had written about Haniyeh some fourteen years ago and followed it with his most recent poem honoring the Palestinian martyr.
