Jordanian-Palestinian director leaves fest

Jordanian-Palestinian director Hadi Shatat has pulled his film 'Zahra' from the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.

The director was quoted by the media as saying that the withdrawal was due to the disrespect of the Saudi media conglomerate, MBC, towards Palestinian resistance figures.

The fest is scheduled for December.

He also noted that MBC is a significant partner of the fest.

'Zahra' is a film about a pregnant woman working in a clothing factory who needs money for a C-section and discovers the tragic reality of individuality within her community.
