‘Parvaneh’ documentary to premiere soon

The first documentary on late Iranian actress Parvaneh Masoumi, titled ‘Parvaneh’, is set to air on IRIB TV channels to mark the first anniversary of her passing on November 26, 2023.

The film, directed by Iman Ahmadi, will explore the actress's life, from her birth in 1944 to her illustrious career in film and television, which spanned over three decades.

The documentary features personal accounts from Masoumi's relatives and exclusive insights from renowned cinema figures, including Alireza Zarrindast, Ayoub Aqakhani, Akbar Nabavi, and Behrouz Afkhami.

Viewers will also gain behind-the-scenes access to the making of her iconic works. 

Parvaneh Masoumi starred in over 35 films and 25 TV series, earning critical acclaim and two Crystal Simorgh awards at the Fajr International Film Festival.

She remains celebrated for roles in classics such as ‘Chrysanthemum Flowers’, ‘Furniture for Rabab’, ‘Imam Ali (AS)’, and ‘Captain Khorshid’. 

Additionally, Simafilm unveiled the documentary's official poster, heightening anticipation for the tribute to this iconic artist's enduring legacy.
