Leader hails Iran movie ‘Prophet Moses’

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has praised the Iranian-made movie ‘Prophet Moses’, ordering the continuation of the film project.

Ayatollah Khamenei recently said in a meeting with the producer, director, and a group of other people involved in the movie ‘Prophet Moses’, “I watched the film Moses [PBUH], it was excellent. God willing, you will be able to bring out its sequel in the same way. It was very outstanding, thank God. I both enjoyed watching the film and was happy that such a work was produced.”

Fully named ‘Prophet Moses: At Dawn’, the movie tells the story of Prophet Moses from his childhood.

It is written and directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia, a prominent Iranian director.

“The pharaoh has a nightmare in which a destructive person is gathering up his kingdom, and the dream-giver Anubis announces that a baby is about to be born and that the birth of the baby must be prevented. Meanwhile, a baby is born and …” a brief synopsis for the film reads.

Premiered at the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival, ‘Prophet Moses’ earned five awards, including best supporting actor, best makeup, best costume design, best set design, and best visual effects.

The cast features prominent actors, including Merila Zarei, Alireza Kamali, Bahnam Tashakkor, Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Farhad Ayeesh, and Shakib Shajareh.

Following the film’s success, production for the series adaptation is expected to begin soon.
