Iran-Tajikistan co-production 'Fish on the Hook' has gained two major awards at Tajikistan’s Toji Somon International Film Festival.
At the festival’s closing ceremony held on October 19, 'Fish on the Hook' received the Grand Prix for the Best Feature Film and the Award for Best Composer.
Directed by Tajik filmmaker Muhiddin Muzaffar, with music composed by renowned Iranian musician Fardin Khalatbari, the film explores themes centered on the importance of family.
The production was made in collaboration with iFilm Network, along with Iranian and Tajik sponsors.
Previously, 'Fish on the Hook' was honored at the 37th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran.
Fourteen other feature films from Russia, India, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Belarus, Moldova, Indonesia, and Mongolia competed with 'Fish on the Hook' at the festival.
The event opened on October 15 with the screening of competition films, followed by the official opening of the Days of Iranian Cinema in Tajikistan at the Tahir Sobirov Cinema Theater.
