Dozens of Iranian handicrafts have been honored with the UNESCO Seal of Excellence over the past couple of years.
The US, Europe (especially Germany and Italy), China, Brazil, South and Central Africa, along with neighboring countries are the most significant markets for Iranian handicrafts.
The 26th Iran Handmade Carpet Exhibition is also held on the sidelines of the event.
Iran is a leading exporter of hand-woven carpets and handicrafts. Iranian rugs and handicrafts are highly sought out for their intricate design and skilled craftsmanship.
The 28th National Crafts Exhibition started on August 23 and is to run until August 29, 2017.
