New film by Iran powerhouse director of ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ is to make international debut at the BFI London Film Festival in the UK.
'Beyond the Clouds' will vie at the official completion section of the event for the Best Film Award which recognizes inspiring, inventive and distinctive filmmaking.
The film competes along with 12 contenders from various countries such as the US, France, Palestine and Australia.
"Risk-taking Iranian director Majid Majidi, best known for his Oscar-nominated 'Children of Heaven', moves to Mumbai for this stunning feature," the festival's online catalog said about Iran mega director's new film.
Set in the slums of Mumbai in India, the film boasts "cinematographer Anil Mehta, who captures India’s urban landscape with a breathtaking sense of awe ... [and] the immensely talented, Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire)" on the cast list, catalog text for the fest also read.
The film stars Indian artists Ishaan Khattar and Malavika Mohanan in the lead roles.The movie has also been produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy.

The 61st edition of the event takes place at venues across the UK capital from 4 -15 October 2017.
Majidi has directed blockbuster religious biopic ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ (2015) which enjoys domestic and international cast and crew.
