Iran-US joint film adds two more actors

Two American actors have joined the cast of Ali Atshani's comedy film ‘1st Born’.

Greg Grunberg and Taylor Cole are now a part of the cast of the first US-Iranian co-production, whose filming will start in the Californian city of Los Angeles on Monday, September 11.

They will join other prominent actors, including Val Kilmer, William Baldwin, Jay Abdo, Robert Knepper and Armin Amiri.

The movie is the first joint production of Iran and Hollywood, using a cast and crew from both the US and the Middle East.

‘1st Born’ tells the story of a newly married couple, Iranian-born Ben and his American wife Kate, who are living in California.

Troubles arise when the couple's first pregnancy faces complications and both sides of the family must come together.

Things get even more tricky when Ben's father, Hamid, an anti-American Iranian politician, meets with Kate's father, Biden (played by Kilmer), an American politician with a hardline stance against Iran.

The film will be produced by LA Independent Film and Entertainment studio located in Hollywood. The screenplay has been written by Sam Khoze and Tarek Zohdy.

Edwin Avaness is the associate producer of the movie in Hollywood and Pouria Nasserbakht is the associate producer in Iran.
