'Iran film hooks big crowds in Bulgaria'

Iran culture attaché to Bulgaria says screenings of Iranian film 'Melancholia' by Morteza Atash-Zamzam at 2017 Varna filmfest attracted large audiences in the European country.

The cultural official noted in a message to the cast and crew of 'Melancholia' that the film drew "big crowds during screening at the fest with Bulgarian media releasing a great deal of news stories and reviews on the film."

Kiani’s message read,” With God’s blessing, we witness that … efforts on the part of the film cast and crew have been paid off and … the movie at the Varna film fest” was awarded, adding that as such I should like to extend my “extend my gratitude and thankfulness to you.”

According to a local media report, Mohammad-Ali Kiani also honored the film producer and director Morteza Atash-Zamzam as well as starring cast members Laleh Eskandari and Mohammad-Reza Hedayati.

The honoring incident comes on the heels of the film success at 2017 International Film Festival “Love is Folly” in Bulgarian city of Varna, scooping the Union of Bulgarian Film Makers award.

The 25th International Film Festival “Love is Folly” was held in Varna, Bulgaria, from August 25 to September 3, 2017.

The film narrates the story of those with bipolar disorder who are not aware of their mental condition.
