Shushtar watermills

Located in Iran's Khuzestan Province, Shushtar city’s Historical Hydraulic System forms a spectacular cliff from which water cascades into a downstream basin.

The property, tracing back to Darius the Great in the 5th century B.C, includes water mills, dams, tunnels and canals.

It was registered on the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 2009.
