Asghar Farhadi’s famous film ‘About Elly’ is scheduled to appear on the silver screen in Turkey.
Produced eight years ago, the film is now to be screened in Turkish movie theaters alongside five other films.
Both written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, won ‘About Elly’ the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
Farhadi also won the Crystal Simorgh for best directing at the 27th edition of Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.
‘About Elly’ unfolds the story of a group of middle class people who travel to one of the most beatiful beach resorts in the north of Iran, where they got caught in a tragedy as they try to uphold their social customs.
Born in 1972, Farhadi is an Iranian film director and screenwriter. Among other awards, he has also received a Golden Globe Award.
He was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world by Time magazine in 2012.
