German converts to Islam in Mashhad

A German woman has converted to Islam during a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in the Iranian holy city of Mashhad.

According to a recent report, German national Jasmine Ouzren accepted Islam as her religion on a visit to Mashhad during the mourning month of Muharram which marks the martyrdom anniversary of third Muslim Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).

“The love for Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) was the most important motivation for me to convert to Islam. My husband is Muslim and he left me free to choose my religion, so that I could select the best religion of my choice,” the new Muslim convert said.

She noted that discrimination and injustice are main problems of Muslims in Germany today.

“The media are working with their ill-considered propaganda to show the laws of Islam against human rights,” Ouzren said.

Ten foreigners have converted to Islam in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) since the beginning of the Persian year (starting March 21).
