TISFF announces experimental lineup

The selection committee of the 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has selected 12 titles to compete at the international experimental section.

The festival’s official website recently announced the titles, from among some 6000 films submitted to the festival, in experimental competition list where works from 11 countries will compete.

‘Onikuma’ directed by Alessia Cecchet from Italy, ‘Night Clerk’ directed by Damon Mohl from the US, ‘First of November’ directed by Yuri Pirondi from Portugal, and ‘Stroboscope’ directed by Elena Korzhaeva from Russia are in the lineup.

The list goes on with ‘Through the Supermarket in Five Easy Pieces’ by Anna-Maria Hutri from Finland, ‘Doors of Perception by Caroline Schwarz as well as ‘Exodus’ by Acci Baba, both from Germany, and ‘Confident’ by Karen Akerman from Brazil.

‘Elysium’ by Gregor Nadzam from Slovakia, ‘Sleep Paralysis’ by Fernando Gallucci from Argentina, ‘Nature’ by Sebastian Mulder from Netherlands, and ‘The Other’ by Will Sankhla from India are also among the selected films.

The event includes national competition, international competition and out of competition sections.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, to be directed by Seyyed-Sadeq Mousavi, is slated for October 17-22 in the Iranian capital city.

Organized by IYCS, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and a member of International Short Film Conference, the festival is aimed to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.
