A total of 18 films are to vie at “Journey of Love” International Photo and Film Festival in Iran and Iraq, focusing on Arbaeen march.
According to the fest's Wednesday media release, films such as ‘The Buried Secret’ by Ali Ghafari, Fereydoun Hasanpour’s ‘Ziba and I’, ‘Birthday Party’ by Abbas Lajevardi, Rasoul Mollagholipour’s ‘Hiva’ and ‘Hussain Who Said No’ directed by Ahmadreza Darvish are to compete at the competition section of the festival.
Some other select titles include Jamal Shoorjeh’s ‘The Tenth Night’, ‘The Fateful Day’ by Shahram Asadi, ‘Heartbroken’ by Ali Roointan, ‘Horizon’ by Rasoul Mollagholipour and Abolghasem Talebi’s ‘Empty Hands’.
The first edition of "Journey of Love' international festival is slated to be held October 23-27, 2017 in the Iranian holy city of Mashad and the Iraqi city of Karbala, simultaneously.
Each year, millions of Muslims take part in one of the biggest marches in the world for the holy day of Arbaeen which marks the end of a 40-day mourning period following Ashura, the religious ritual that commemorates the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad's grandson Imam Hussain (AS).
