Tehran has opened a caricature exhibition on the Persian Gulf in response to Donald Trump’s political gaffe.
The cartoon exhibition opened on Monday, titled ‘The Persian Gulf Forever’, is running in Tehran’s Soureh Cultural & Art Institute.
The exhibition of Iranian cartoons about the US President Donald Trump’s blunder on Iran and the Persian Gulf is planned to be continued until October 25, 2017.
The Iranian cartoonists staged the exhibition in reaction to Trump’s denial to refer to the Persian Gulf by its genuine historical name in his Friday speech.
The exhibition has put some 55 artworks on display in central Tehran.
The portrait of Martyr Mohammad Ahmadi was also unveiled on the sideline of the expo.
In a bellicose speech on Friday, Trump referred to the Persian Gulf, the body of water that borders the south of Iran, with the false name “Arabian Gulf” that instantly angered the Iranians.
