Groundbreaking ceremony for a pottery research center is to be held at Iran global village of Kalpurgan well-known for centuries-long pottery tradition.
A local media report quoted Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department in Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan, Kambiz Moshtaq-Gohari, as saying on Thursday that the sod-turning ceremony for the center will be held in conjunction with a celebration of Kalpurgan’s global registration..
In 2017, the World Crafts Council registered the Iran’s Kalpurgan as the world village of pottery.
The celebration for global recognition of Iranian village will be held some time in November or December, a report said.
Iranian pottery is as old as this country’s history and Kalpurgan village is home to a great number of pottery objects with patterns dating to centuries ago.
